In an important step towards making historical education more inclusive, Shivsrushti, the historical theme park in Ambegaon Budruk, Pune, will offer entry tickets at Rs 50 for all visitors from May 15 to July 15, 2025. This limited-time offering is being supported by a Rs 51 lakh contribution from the Abhay Bhutada Foundation, an organization recognized for its focus on social upliftment and educational initiatives.
The tickets will be available exclusively through the official Shivsrushti website, and the discounted rate will apply uniformly to every visitor during the two-month period.

Making Culture Accessible for All
This initiative aims to ensure that people from diverse backgrounds can experience Shivsrushti’s thoughtfully developed exhibits without cost being a limiting factor. The Abhay Bhutada Foundation, led by its founder and chairman Abhay Bhutada, is using this donation to help increase public access to spaces that preserve and promote regional history.
According to officials, the timing of this initiative, during the school summer holidays, will also allow many families, students, and educators to plan enriching visits to the park. It is being widely viewed as a step in the right direction for culturally focused learning outside the classroom.
A Tribute to Historical Ideals
Shivsrushti has been designed to reflect the life and leadership of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, one of the most revered figures in Indian history. The project draws inspiration from the vision of Babasaheb Purandare, whose lifelong work focused on researching and retelling Shivaji Maharaj’s story.
Jagdish Kadam, Chairman of Shivsrushti, shared that the park has been conceptualized not just as an entertainment destination, but as a resource for citizens to understand the values that shaped the Maratha empire.
What Visitors Can Expect
Spanning 21 acres, Shivsrushti offers visitors a comprehensive walk through history with the aid of modern technology. Each section of the park has been carefully planned to portray key events, environments, and symbols associated with Shivaji Maharaj’s life and reign.
Some of the key highlights include:
The Time Machine Theatre, introduced earlier this year as part of the second phase, allows audiences to view detailed historical recreations using advanced audio-visual systems, holographic projections, and interactive storytelling. This facility was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in February 2025 during the celebration of Shiv Jayanti.
Exhibits such as Durg Vaibhav, Ranangan, Shrimant Yogi, and Sinhasanadhishwar offer rich context on Shivaji Maharaj’s military planning, leadership strategies, and governance.
Replicas of iconic landmarks such as the Tulja Bhavani temple and Ganga Sagar lake, along with historically accurate paintings and set designs, add further depth to the experience.
The entire park is air-conditioned, making it a comfortable venue for visitors of all ages even during peak summer months.
Encouraging Digital Participation
To streamline access and avoid overcrowding, the park will be accepting only online registrations for the discounted tickets. This approach is also part of a larger shift towards digitising the cultural sector, ensuring better management of daily visitor volumes while promoting ease of booking.
With the Rs 50 ticket offer, the management expects a strong turnout over the next two months and encourages early booking to avoid missing the opportunity.
Foundation’s Broader Role in Social Change

The Abhay Bhutada Foundation has been consistently involved in projects that strengthen the educational ecosystem in India. Its work includes the distribution of STEM kits to government school students in Pune, support for skill-building workshops, and programs aimed at introducing underprivileged youth to hands-on scientific learning.
By backing Shivsrushti’s visitor program, the Foundation is extending its outreach to the cultural and heritage space, one that also holds deep educational value. Observers from the education sector have praised the move as an example of how private institutions can support public interest projects in a meaningful way.
Closing Thought
With this initiative, Shivsrushti is set to become more than just a tourist attraction, it will serve as a shared space for learning, reflection, and appreciation of historical leadership. Thanks to the support of the Abhay Bhutada Foundation, thousands of visitors this summer will have the opportunity to step into a well-curated world that celebrates the enduring values of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
